Century Number 36 for Rahul Dravid

The great Indian Wall Rahul Dravid scored his 36th Test Century in 2nd Test Match of West Indies tour of India at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday. Rahul Dravid score of 119 was studded with 9 boundaries and two flat sixes a rarity in his style.

Coming in to bat at number 3 after the departure of Virendra Sehwag, Rahul Dravid started cautiously as he always does. But he soon caught up with the pace of the pitch and added 83 runs with Gautam Gambhir (65) for the second wicket.

With Sachin Tendulkar he added 56 for the third wicket and in the process scored his 62nd half century equaling Sachin tendulkar and only one behind Allan Border of Australia.

Rahul Dravid didn’t stopped after Tendulkar departed for disappointing 38 missing out on yet another opportunity to score century of century. In company of VVS Laxman he added 140 for the 4th wicket to get India past 300.

Rahul dravid got to his 36th hundred with a powerful boundary off Kemar Roach who bowled a no ball, but just when the day was about to end Rahul Dravid throws his wicket to part time spinner Brathwaite, bowled off an inside edge of the bat.

Rahul Dravid also fell short by 21 runs to post 13000 runs in Test Cricket but still has a chance in the second innings. Rahul Dravid (36) is 4th in the list of highest century scorers behind Sachin Tendulkar (51), Jacques Kallis (40) and Ricky Ponting (39)
